Passing – 4 Squares

Setup

Ages 9+. 40 x 40 yard pitch with a rectangle 10 by 10 at each corner.  4 players in each corner with a ball.  Each player has a number 1 to 4



Introduction

Players work the ball around the square passing and moving to create space to pass. The coach then calls a number 1 –4. At that point one of the players comes out of the square and passes the ball along the floor to a receiving player in the adjacent corner. The player then follows the ball and joins the other team. All players move in and anti-clockwise direction

Progression
  1. Players pass the ball in the air for the opposite player to control. Players follow up as before.
  2. A player from each grid dribbles the ball through the central cones and moves into the opposite corner
